Supercomputers allow scientific researchers and engineers to solve large, advanced, complex computational problems which are too big for a single machine to compute.
A supercomputer is able to perform billions of calculations per second. For example, supercomputers are used to: provide weather forecasts; to help create new medicines; to help design new materials and ways of generating environmentally friendly forms of energy.
An animated video, a comic and a coloring sheet is now available for the Danish public. Feel free to download them here.
